All the goals came in the first half as Derby's second string lost 2-1 away to West Ham United on Wednesday night.

The Hammers took the lead with a ninth-minute penalty by Stokes, who was fouled by Mark Dudley but dusted himself down to score from the spot.

But Derby were level on 26 after good work by Aaron Dillon and Greg Mills gave Paris Simmons the chance to curl home a superb finish from the edge of the box.

However the winning goal came nine minutes later when the home side broke down the left for Junior Stanislas to finish off a low cross from eight yards.

Derby were never out of the game as it progressed but they were unable to find an equaliser.

Julien Faubert for West Ham and Derby's Jason Beardsley were the only players on show with senior experience though the home side did include 47-year-old Ludek Miklosko among their substitutes.

We'll have a full report here at www.dcfc.co.uk on Thursday morning.
