Attempts to get tickets failed but Rams fan Richard Griffiths was still able to more than enjoy his trip to Germany for the World Cup.

Richard and his family, season ticket holders in the East Stand at Pride Park, visited the Fan Fest in Hannover and proudly showed off their Derby County colours.

Richard takes up the story: "Here we are at the Fan Fest - myself, my wife Donna, kids Sian and Rae, and sister-in-law Mandy.

"Everyone was making a fuss over the girls in their face paints.

"We met Costa-Ricans who saw our Derby tops and were fluent in Wanchope, and loads of Poles who were fluent in Rasiak.

"It was a fantastic time and a fantastic atmosphere."
