Goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe signed a two-year deal at Derby in July 2007, having been released by Preston North End in the summer.
The stopper was born in Preston and came through the ranks at Deepdale but was released by the Lilywhites over the summer of 2007.
Hinchliffe signed professional with Preston at 17 but didn't make a senior appearance for the club.
He made his league bow while on loan at Tranmere Rovers at the end of 2006/07, with an appearance as a substitute and then a start on the final day.
The youngster was also sent out to play UniBond League football with Kendal Town earlier the same campaign.
Hinchliffe's first involvement in a senior Derby squad when he was a late call-up to the bench on Boxing Day against Liverpool, to provide cover for Lewis Price who had been included in the starting line-up due to an injury to Stephen Bywater.
