Teenage defender Jason Beardsley has agreed to join League 2 side Notts County for a three-month loan spell.

The 18-year-old Academy product will link up with Ian McParland's Magpies until October to get some first-team experience under his belt.

Burton-born Beardsley has progressed through Derby's youth ranks and made his senior debut in the League Cup tie with Blackpool in August 2007.

He was also an unused substitute three times in the Premier League last season, his first as a professional player.

The formalities of his move to Notts will be completed at the start of next week.
