Paul Jewell's rebuilding of Derby County has continued, with the Club today announcing the departure of Kenny Miller to Scottish Premier League club Glasgow Rangers.

The Rams have agreed a deal with the Glasgow club valued at £2 million. Jewell is continuing to pursue new targets as he shapes the squad for the promotion push back to the Premier League.

Paul Jewell said: "I'd like to thank Kenny for the work he has put in for Derby County, he was a good professional to work with.

"However, I believe this deal is good for all parties involved and is a very good piece of business for Derby County. My focus now is centred on rebuilding the squad for next season and changing the culture at this club."

Kenny Miller made 33 appearances in all competitions for Derby County, scoring six goals.

Derby County have been the most pro-active club in the transfer market, securing seven close season signings so far, with more deals in the pipeline.

Jewell added: "I am really happy with the progress we are making at the moment; I think it's a fair description to say we are ahead of schedule and still pressing.

"I've said all along I'd like to have the majority of my squad assembled for when the players return for pre-season training on the 27 June and at the moment that is looking likely."

The seven new players already committed to joining Derby County are Ruben Zadkovich, Paul Connolly, Nathan Ellington, Jordan Stewart, Paul Green, Kris Commons and Steve Davies.
