ZADKOVICH'S WORLD CUP CALLING
Ruben Zadkovich suffered disappointment in the final of the Intercontinental Cup with Australia's U23 squad - but he could put all that right this weekend.
The 22-year-old has been included in head coach Pim Verbeek's initial squad of 34 players for Sunday's homoe World Cup qualifier against Iraq.
Zadkovich is yet to make his full international bow but is hoping to impress Verbeek and stake a claim for a regular place.
And it's a chance to put aside the disappointment of defeat in the final of the recent Intercontinental Cup.
Zadkovich had played in the U23 side's first two group games before being rested for the third, and he missed out on the semi-final win over Ireland due to illness.
A bug had swept through the squad, ruling out captain Mark Milligan, and Zadkovich only lasted for 41 minutes of the 2-0 defeat to Nigeria.
But he is joined in the full squad by fellow Ram Mile Sterjovski, who had an eventful outing in Australia's last game.
Sterjovski scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Ghana but was also sent off late in the game for two yellow cards.
