AUSSIES SECURE SEMI-FINAL PLACE
The Qantas Australia U23 side have reached the semi-final of the Intercontinental Cup after a fiery end to their group-stage fixtures.
They were on the verge of the last four after two wins from two going into Tuesday night's game with Toga.
And though they were without Rams midfielder Ruben Zadkovich they cruised to a 4-0 success in a lively encounter.
Australia were already two-up when Togo had a man sent off on the hour, allowing the Olyroos to further stamp their authority with two more goals.
Then the controversy increased as Togo had another player dismissed with 15 minutes remaining and lost another three to injury.
The referee had no option but to abandon the game with the result standing.
Australia will find out their semi-final opponents on Thursday - 24 hours before the game - when Nigeria take on Iraq in their last group encounter.
