RUBEN A KEY MAN FOR AUSSIE SQUAD
Ruben Zadkovich has played a key role in helping the Qantas Australia U23 side to the verge of the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Cup.
The 21-year-old, who becomes a Derby County player in the summer, scored the winner in Monday's 2-1 success against Chile.
That was Australia's second game of three in the group stage and came on the back of a 3-0 victory over Croatia last week.
Zadkovich showed his versatility by lining up at right wing-back against Croatia before returning to the middle of midfield for the Chile clash.
The game was level at 1-1 until the hour-mark when Zadkovich powered home a fine header to clinch all three points.
Australia now need a draw from their final group game, against Togo today (Tuesday), to earn a place in the semi-final with Nigeria their most likely opponents.
The squad has also been drawn to face Serbia, Argentina and the Ivory Coast in this year's Olympic Games tournament.
