Lee Holmes, Marc Edworthy and Michael Johnson will leave Derby County at the expiry of their contracts this summer.

The trio have been told they will not be offered new terms by boss Paul Jewell as the gaffer's preparations continue for next season.

Holmes, 21, is Derby's youngest-ever player having made his debut on Boxing Day 2002 at the age of just 15 years and 267 days.

The left-winger came through the Academy setup to make a total of 52 appearances for the Rams, and he scored two goals.

But he was rarely able to secure himself a regular place in the team and went on loan to Swindon Town (2004/05), Bradford City (2006/07) and Walsall (2007/08).

Holmes's last game for Derby was on the final day of 2005/06 at home to Sheffield Wednesday, though he was an unused substitute at times last season.

Edworthy, 35, was a free transfer signing from Norwich City in July 2005 and made a total of 84 appearances.

He was part of the squad that survived relegation in his first season before helping the Rams to promotion via the play-offs 12 months ago.

Edworthy made nine Premier League appearances this year, including on the final day at home to Reading.

Centre-half Johnson arrived in August 2003 from Birmingham City and immediately set about keeping Derby in the second-tier under George Burley's leadership.

Though injury ruled him out of the latter part of 2006/07 he still played a key part in the promotion campaign.

Jonno, as club captain, jointly lifted the trophy at Wembley as Derby earned a Premier League place at Wembley.

His Pride Park career looked over early in 2007/08 when he joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan but returned to make four more appearances, including three in the Premier League, to take his Derby total to 150.

He then went on loan to Notts County, the club where he started his career, and has agreed to join them on a one-year deal this summer.

Also heading out is 19-year-old goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe, who has been released 12 months into a two-year contract.

Hinchliffe was an unused substitute nine times in 2007/08 but didn't make a senior appearance.
