Paul Jewell won't accept anything less than 100 per cent commitment 100 per cent of the time as he prepares to shape his squad for next season.

The gaffer faces a busy summer in a bid to get Derby County ready for an assault on the Coca-Cola Championship in 2008/09.

And in an exclusive chat with www.dcfc.co.uk and The Ram this week he outlined his aims for making sure the "team" mentality shines through.

"I only want people who are 100 per cent committed," Jewell said.

"I don't want people who are 90 per cent, not 95 per cent, and not even 99 per cent.

"It has got to be 100 per cent commitment from the day you walk through the gates, from the first day at training, through to the last day of the season.

"We only want people who are prepared to put the group ahead of themselves and that is the way it has to be.

"The best teams do it that way. The individual is only a very small part of the group and that is the mentality I want for us."

Jewell expects his squad to be quite different come the start of the Championship season compared to what he currently has at his disposal.

"I think so, by the mere fact that at the end of the season most clubs have a change in personnel anyway," he said.

"Some players will want to leave and some will be coming in.

"I'm not under pressure to sell anyone but I do feel as if the whole club needs a turnaround.

"Not everyone is going to be leaving, of course, but I think we need to bring in a fresh impetus of players.

"We do have some very good players here who haven't shown their best form this year."
