MILES CAN HOLD HIS HEAD HIGH
Miles Addison has been backed to be a regular in a Derby County shirt by the man who partnered him on his Premier League debut.
The 19-year-old Academy product was called in at centre-half for the Rams' defeat at Blackburn Rovers with Dean Leacock and Alan Stubbs out injured.
Addison went about his business well against top-quality opposition in the shape of Jason Roberts and Roque Santa Cruz.
He was partnered at the back by Darren Moore - ironically the man who was suspended to give Addison his League debut two years ago.
Moore said: "For me he is ready and he has been working extremely hard in training.
"The gaffer has given him his chance today and he can come out of this stadium with his head held high after playing against two very good strikers.
"For someone so young to make his Premier League debut should send him a signal that he has got the talent and the ability, and if he wants to he can make a real name for himself in the game."
Addison's Rams debut came on Easter Monday 2006 against Hull City at Pride Park, and he kept his place five days later away to Ipswich Town.
Those two appearances were made as a first-year Academy scholar and he signed a two-year professional deal last summer.
