Arsene Wenger admits he was surprised by the Rams' performance in the first part of Monday night's 6-2 home defeat.

"They were dangerous in fairness on every set-piece but our technical superiority gradually allowed us to take over," said the Arsenal boss.

"At the start they certainly didn't look like a team that was down."

Wenger added: "Fabregas dominated the game but Bendtner and the young players who played today also did well.

"It's still possible for us to win the league but we need a miracle. and that's not probable.

"We have worked very hard and this team has a great future for me and I feel we have been very unlucky this year. I love this team - the way they behave and the way they play."
