"NO DOOM AND GLOOM" SAYS JONAH
David Jones insists there has been no "doom and gloom" around Moor Farm this week - but admits that a weight has been lifted off the Rams' shoulders following relegation.
Derby's return to the Championship was confirmed following last weekend's 2-2 draw at home to Fulham.
But it had been on the cards for some time and Jones says there hasn't been a dark cloud hanging over the players in recent days.
"There has been no doom and gloom," the 23-year-old revealed to RamsWorld.
"Now it has been definitely confirmed there has been a little bit of weight off our shoulers and training has been buzzing all week.
"The manager has tried to make that happen and now we've got six games left to look forward to and to try and get over that 15-point mark.
"We want to restore a bit of team pride and personal pride from the season and take something from it.
"It is going to be difficult in the six games we have got left but there is everything to play for.
"On a personal note I have been injured at times this season so these last six games are vital for me to try and get a run in the side."
The first of Derby's final six comes at Goodison Park on Sunday with a game against Everton, who are chasing fourth place and a Champions League qualifying spot.
But the Toffees haven't been in the best of form themselves lately and Jones is hoping that can have an impact.
"Maybe we are catching them at the right time," he said.
"Hopefully we can continue the bit of form we have had in the last three games and build on those performances.
"We will go there hooping to pick up a point or three because we believe that, on our day, we can put in a decent performance and give anyone trouble."
Also coming up is a home encounter with Arsenal at Pride Park Stadium, to go alongside the other memories from 2007/08.
Jones added: "You have got to treasure these moments as next season we won't be playing against these teams.
"But hopefully we can bounce back up to face them again and give a better account of ourselves."
