EXCLUSIVE: ROBERT DEAL CANCELLED
Laurent Robert has left Derby County after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent on Wednesday afternoon.
The French winger was a January signing as a free agent and he penned a deal to stay at Pride Park Stadium until the end of the season.
He impressed during a trial and was offered a contract by boss Paul Jewell but didn't force himself into the side on a regular basis.
Jewell said: "It didn't quite work out for Laurent here but we wish him well in the future."
Robert made three starts - against Wigan Athletic, Portsmouth and Birmingham City - and appeared as a substitute in the defeat to Manchester United in March.
The 32-year-old had previous experience of the Premier League with Newcastle United and Portsmouth.
