CARROLL CALL IS DESERVED SAYS BOSS
Roy Carroll has the chance to reignite his international career after being named in the Northern Ireland squad for this month's international friendly with Georgia.
Boss Nigel Worthington has included the 30-year-old in his party for the March 26 clash at Windsor Park.
Carroll hasn't played for his country since coming off injured after 12 minutes of a 3-2 victory against Spain in September 2006.
But he has been in fine form since joining Derby in January and Pride Park gaffer Paul Jewell believes the call-up is richly-deserved.
"I think it is recognition for Roy getting back playing football and playing exceptionally well," Jewell revealed in an interview now being screened on RamsWorld.
"Hopefully he can continue to play well for us and get in the Irish team because I think he is a top-class goalkeeper."
Another Derby goalkeeper hoping to press his international claims is Lewis Price, who has been included in the Wales squad for the friendly trip to Luxembourg on March 26.
He is joined in John Toshack's party by defender Lewin Nyatanga, who is currently on loan at Barnsley, but there is no place for striker Robert Earnshaw.
And midfielder Mile Sterjovski is part of the Australian squad to take on China in a World Cup qualifier, also on March 26.
Jay McEveley, Stephen Pearson, Kenny Miller and Gary Teale - on loan at Plymouth Argyle - are in Scotland's plans for a home friendly against Croatia that same night.
