Winger Gary Teale has joined Championship side Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.

Instead of contemplating a game against former club Wigan this coming Saturday, the Scottish international will be in contention for a place in Paul Sturrock's starting XI against Burnley at Home Park.

Plymouth currently sit ninth in the Championship table - just five points outside the play-off places and tonight travel to Southampton.

Teale signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Rams just over a year ago, arriving in  the 2007 January transfer window for £600,000 from Wigan, at the time managed by Paul Jewell.

Said Jewell: "Gary has had limited first team opportunities here and has lost a bit of confidence, but he's a terrific lad and we wish him well."
