PARIS STRIKES TO EARN THE POINTS
Paris Simmons struck for the tenth time this season to earn the Rams' Academy team three points for the first time since October.
The 18-year-old netted his second in two games since the turn of the year as Derby took their tally to four points in a week.
Simmons robbed a United defender four minutes before half-time and finished well for the only goal of Saturday's encounter at Moor Farm.
Derby stood firm after the break to ensure that they held on to their advantage in a game of few chances.
Simmons had also been on target seven days previously as the young Rams picked up a creditable 1-1 draw away to Middlesbrough to open 2008.
They had closed 2007 with seven successive defeats - six in Group D of the FA Premier Academy League, and one in the FA Youth Cup.
